Claiming with exclusive access to the files of the Elvis Presley Estate and the archive of colonel Tom Parker presenting a unique insider's view from his earliest gigs to the recordbreaking spectaculars in Las Vegas, this book only succeeds partly. There are certainly enough high quality pictures, but these are mostly in Black and White for the early years. For 1968-1977 there is only room for the very healthy Elvis. Most of the published pictures from this era are taken from the NBC TV-special and the first 3 gigs at the International Hotel, Las Vegas, Houston Astrodome, as well from the Aloha From Hawaii event, concentrating on 'milestone dates'. The book also offers some documentation from several occasions as tracklistings for 1971 tour-dates, a schedual for the Aloha Special, concert-tickets as well some announcements from Colonel Parkers staff, Graceland and RCA. Some 1969 and 1970 pictures are breathtaking. Elvis in the late 70's is hardly displayed. Layout of this book is very good, and it offers enough to consider it as a must have
