Elvis in 1977 is certainly
not Elvis at his best. This Cd only lasts for about 30 minutes, and
doesn't bring real interesting stuff, so we can keep it short on this one.
The sound is only fair for a '77 recording. It seems Elvis sleepwalks
through Love Me, the fairytale gets stopped by Elvis after only 30
seconds with the remark 'I blew it'. Next is If you love me, Let me know;
only a fair performance. There is some feedback during You gave me a
mountain, which makes Elvis jokingly sing 'this time you gave me some
feedback', and Elvis changes some words which makes him laugh. Heartbreak
Hotel is very weak hearted. There are several microphone problems, which
doesn't benefit to the show. The songs Big Boss Man and My Way do make
this disc worthwhile. Total conclusion: a performance driving on routine.
Nothing more and nothing less. |
