First release from the
new label 'disc le roi', and not a very spectacular one, although Elvis
doesn't give his worst show either. The show was recorded at the Von Braun
Civic Center in Huntsville Alabama, 6-9-1976, and things went a little
uphill the last few months of 1976, showing of at the shows in October,
and the very spectacular last tour of the show which highlighted in
Pittsburgh, december 31. Some nice suprises compared to the usual releases
of the 1976 soundboards are Fairytale(which Elvis interrupts not being
satisfeid ith James Burton's guitar-playing), That's All Right and Blue
Christmas. Personally I'm happy with this release. Elvis is in a pretty
good voice, and left the stage after a royal 74 minutes of performing. The
sound is, allthough this is a good soundboard, sometimes a little bit
uneven. You could get worse. (I wonder who lives at the
adres as mentioned on the cover: 78 Rue de Gaulle, 7500 Paris) |
